Another fun week has come and gone for the Nutt House. What a full week it has been! When I reflect back on the week last Monday
seems so very far off but fun was had, even back then. Monday we did something the Nutt House hasn’t
been able to do in a while – attend a story time at the library! Kara and Kaden both enjoyed the stories,
songs, and activities. My favorite part
was watching Kara nervously go toward the front of the room all the time
holding Kaden’s hand. Kaden doesn’t have
much fear and would head straight to the front on his own, Kara who is typically
more reserved, though, with the strength of Kaden’s hand securely in her own
enjoyed the front row seat she would have otherwise missed out on.

Monday evening for FHE we enjoyed an evening of glow-in-the-dark
mini-golf with friends. Kara surprised us
all with her performance, quite frequently getting the ball in the hole within
3 strokes. Kaden enjoyed everything from
scooting the ball into the hole with his club, placing the ball in the hole by
hand, and at times skipping holes to go to ones that appeared to be more
fun. Brent slowly meandered his way
through the course visiting as much as golfing.
As for me, I golfed the first hole and did fairly well. After that, my time was spent attempting to
manage the movements of Kaden.

| No matter how the ball was getting into the hole, he'd get it there |
After mini-golf we moved over to Chick-Fil-A for
dessert. The ice cream and conversation were
enjoyable. Watching Kaden enjoy the
attention of someone older and Kara have fun with her friend was absolutely
heartwarming.

The treats of our week did not end there. Over the course of the week we went out for
dinner to support a stop bullying campaign and had yummy desserts, the little Nutts
and I delighted in some scrumptious gelato, and still for more, we ventured out
to Gilbert to one of our favorite treat locations to pick up some marshmallows. Our bellies have been filled this week with
such yummy goodies!

Treats aren’t all we enjoyed this week. Kara and Kaden both enjoyed their individual
activities. Kara had fun dancing in the
brand new dance studio this week. Her
solo dance, just wow! She performed it
all the way through for the first time ever this week at practice and when she
did – I had tears swelling in my eyes.
She did so very well, works so hard, and I continue to be awed by her
abilities.

I didn't capture a good picture of Kara dancing, but loved this picture of Kaden's future as he's casually holding hands with a girl |
Not to be outdone, Kaden had his own fun at My Gym. This week he managed to walk the balance beam
the full length without holding onto Brent at all. What an accomplishment for himself – I am so
proud of him for the skills improvement he makes through his classes and play
time!

The week wasn’t all routine, we ventured over to the Science
Center for an afternoon of fun.
Afternoons are my new favorite time to head over to the Science Center –
there was hardly a crowd! Just how I
like activity locations for my little Nutts as it provides them with easier
access to the assorted exhibits. Anyway,
it was a great day where Kaden had fun with a friend and Kara delighted in the
fact Brent was able to join us! What a
fun day!

As fun as all of that was for us it wasn’t the end of our
week. Friday night we took our little
Nutts to their first high school football game where we all had fun watching the
players, the marching band half-time show, the cheerleaders, the crowd, and the
full high school football experience overall.
Such a fun night and at the school Brent graduated from high school
from, so the memories it brought back for him were like icing on the cake. The only negative of the evening came from
the fact that once we arrived, got tickets and seats the only seats available
were right under the loud speaker system.
Each time the announcer spoke the ears of two little Nutts were covered
as quickly as possible. When all was
said and done, they both agreed they’d like to go back again, so, happily we
will enjoy Friday night football games again, just next time a great effort
will be made to ensure we are not directly under a speaker again.

We are a football loving family – Brent with the Rams and me
with the Saints, our home team though is the Cardinals and we cheer them on as
long as they aren’t playing one of our favorite teams. So with our love of football and the great
need for a date night – Brent and I greatly enjoyed a night of Cardinals
football for their last at home preseason game of the season. What a fun night! We had amazing seats, just 12 rows up at the
end zone and for my first NFL game ever… only thing that could have made the
game funner would have been a win from the Cardinals. Such a super fun night! I love that we were able to go! Being preseason the tickets weren’t crazy
expensive, the game wasn’t on Sunday and it was as good as any other game would
have been. Definitely, definitely an
activity we’d like to repeat again next year.
 |
| Yay, yay for date night! |
 |
| Love this happy man |

 |
| Can you tell he got into the game |
We did sneak in a fun evening having new friends over for
dinner at the beginning of the week and with a trip to the car wash that the
little Nutts enjoyed we found our week full and over. Now, as our Sunday evening comes to a close we
are preparing for another Nutt-y fun filled week.
