Kara-Bear Adventures

Since it’s been a couple weeks since I last updated I thought I’d break my updates into three parts tonight – one being the adventures of a Kara-bear, one being Nutt family day adventures and the last being Family Home Evening activities. 

So, here goes Adventures of a Kara-bear…

One Sunday, not too long ago (August 21^st) after watching Kara take nine steps in a row – which was a new record for her we decided to see what she could really do (oh! Plus we had grandparents requesting video of Kara walking and we were trying to FINALLY get that to them).  With me holding Kara at one end of the hallway and Brent at the other we tried to get Kara to walk the distance between us.  She’d take a couple steps, but nothing like we thought she could do.  At that point, it was time for plan B – we got out our secret weapon…  The iPod Touch with the Happy Baby App playing.  So, as fruits and vegetables appeared on the screen with the voice calling out the corresponding letter and name of the object we watched as Kara went – traveling over 20 steps to reach what we’d like to hope was Daddy, but deep in our hearts, we know it was to reach the iPod. 

With each step my heart beamed with pride and joy for this milestone and new found freedom for Kara while I cried and longed for the days when my baby was just that – my baby who needed me to get around.  Ugh!  I’m not ready for her to be walking!!!!  Though, I know she is and am as happy and proud as a mom can be –

Our next adventure happened one afternoon in the bathroom.  While I was washing my hands Kara came bursting into the room.  No, she did not come for mommy, she came to bang on the top of the toilet – but wait!  Something caught the corner of her eye – it was the toilet paper.  Sensing what was about to happen I quietly snuck out of the room to get my phone and well, you can see the rest…

Boy oh boy!  Kara is one wonderful Nutt and we are so proud and happy for all the blessings she has added to our little Nutt House!
