The places we go and the things we do

You know the moments where there is no motivation to do anything?  I’m having one of those moments right now.  As I glance to my right I peek into the kitchen where dinner dishes are scattered across the countertops, if I venture into the front room I’ll observe the unwiped table after dinner, down the hall – there I’ll attempt to walk around the train track that has been carefully laid out across the hall and throughout the master bedroom.  It has been an enjoyable Sunday, full of kids playing, delicious food, wonderful company with a visit from Brent’s Uncle Joe, and of course church.  However, at the end of this Sabbath day I lack the energy to clean up from the day.  Maybe it’s the day or a compilation of things from the entire week, I’m not sure.  Between preschool, activity lessons for both kiddos, play dates, a trip to the dentist, not just one but two date nights!  and visiting two museums plus the zoo it has been a busy week!  Phew!  No wonder I full drained!!  That said, I don’t want the week to end without updating on our week, so this is going to be an update through pictures.  Hope it works!

Out of the blue Kara had asked if we could visit the dinosaur museum aka the Natural History Museum, so early in the week we journeyed out for a fun filled afternoon.

My little movie stars

Pteranodon riding

Panning for gold

Dinosaur bone digging

Future paleontologist

Their prospecting treasures
(they actually walked away with quite a bit
*if only it was real!)

Cheesy meteorite pose

They love the flash flood

I love the focus he gives when building or constructing

Picture perfect pose with her creation
Later in the week when we found ourselves treated to weather under 100 degrees we took advantage of the day with an afternoon trip to the zoo
Two little Nutts enamored with a turtle up on the bank of the pond

Kara's picture of the turtle - she did a good job!

Future member of FFA

If it has big tires and/or a big steering wheel he's there!

Milking the cow

He didn't grasp the concept as well as his sis - he tended to try and
pull the udder off... eeek!

Goat petting, always a Nutt House favorite when at the zoo

We loved seeing the brand new baby goats!

Giddy-up cowboy!

Ride 'em cowgirl!

Faster horse, faster

These were their tortoise poses

The monkey's were super active and so close to us...
what a fun treat!
Now, that wasn't our only big excursion for the week.  We also journeyed over to the Children's Museum, a place we don't frequent as much for an afternoon of fun.
Even though the color scheme for painting the
castle was more to Kara's liking they both had fun

Fun in the arts & crafts room

There were many different xylophones and she loved playing each one!

They were fascinated watching where the cloth balls would
come out

After a few trips through the Noodle Forest they loved the
magnetic building toys

Ice cream, you scream?

Pizza anyone?
Kaden loved, loved, loved this room!!!

He was fascinated watching each and every ball
flow down it's track

Kara had fun getting in on the action

He could have stayed in there for days

Pencil cars, a thing of the future?

They LOVED climbing and exploring

Exploring away!

Climbing and playing in a bathtun

Between our adventures we did enjoy preschool, dance class and Kaden's classes at My Gym
Kaden's preschool was at our house this week with
the focus on the letter "B" and the number "2"

Making the letter B out of shaving cream

My Gym Ball Pit

Shaky ladder climbing

Backward rolls

Big octagon swing

He had so much fun swinging Saturday!
Alas, the week wasn't all play, we had dentist appointments too.  Both little Nutt's were rock stars!  Kara was like an old pro and Kaden who up to this point had not handled a dentist appointment well sat there the whole time with his mouth wide open, even when they'd try to talk to him.  This little man makes me smile!
Kara - the old pro

Kaden - the wide open mouth star
As I mentioned above, somehow Brent and I managed to have not just one but two dates this week, how so very nice to spend time with my favorite Nutt.  I love this man so much and treasure all the moments we can share with just the two of us.  Saturday night we brought out our inner foodies at a charity event for Phoenix Children's Hospital where we were treated to Circus performers and food from 9 amazing local chefs.  How fun and yummy!  Now we have a few new restaurants we are eager to try out.  Friday, thanks to a work event Brent had our sporty sides came out as we watched the Diamondbacks take Dodgers in a baseball game.
Play ball!

Great seats in the party suite

LOVE
Alas, the week wasn't all fun and games - we had some Nutt-y moments at the Nutt House.  At one particular time, the two little Nutts had been playing and fighting just enough that I was done.  I was at that moment where nice mom was about to turn into a hybrid of the Wicked Witch of the West and the Incredible Hulk.  Thankfully I remembered what a friend said - instead of yelling and things I'd regret, I sent both kiddos to the shower, where I doused them in whipping cream.  They laughed and had fun while I relieved my built up angst all while not raising my voice.  A win, win on all accounts and with this simple decision love,  harmony and unity once again filled our home.
They were pretty well coated

and much happier
And that is our week and a wrap!  Now, onto a good nights sleep and a new week (full of dishes and cleaning before the week really starts but hey, it's a new week and for that I am so very thankful)
